It was about 85 degrees outside, the sun pounding on my back, as I feel the sweat dripping off my forehead. I'm volunteering at
Stone Fire Art Studio.When I walk into the back storage room, I hear
Maxine tell me "Clean this area up, throw away what you think should be trashed!" I start to lift the sheets of
rough lumber,scared that I would get a
splinter while throwing it away. Halfway to the dumpster, the smell of rotten trash was filling the air. I kept walking towards the
dumpster with my eyes watering. Once I got there I set the sheets of lumber down then suddenly my finger was aching. I could feel the pulse pounding in my finger. I dropped the wood on top of my finger and while pulling it out I got a splinter. I went into the bathroom to wash my hands and the cold water on my hands felt so cold and nice. I then went to my bag and got a
bandaid to put over my splinter to help keep it clean and also took a sip of my cool and refreshing
